MAXXI National Museum of the XXI Century Arts
London based Zaha Hadid’s deconstructivist style has made her one of the most in demand architects of modern times, creating buildings that are set to become icons of the future. The MAXXI National Museum of the XXI Century Arts in Rome is one of her most recent projects, the stunning 27,000 square metre space is Italy’s first contemporary art museum which houses both MAXXI Art and MAXXI Architecture. More than just a museum, the flowing design is actually a campus of buildings intertwined and superimposed over each other to give an experimental and versatile texture of spaces that can be used as libraries, cafes, shops, lecture spaces and much more.
